My Brothers,
These are very busy times for all of
us. I hope this message finds you
well. My wife Kimmie and I hope you are safe and staying healthy
during all the winter storms the county has gone through recently.
I would like to thank all of you for your successful efforts in getting
the new year off to a great start. I.e. Graveyard of the Innocent,
Pro-Life events, First degree, etc.
The council's current main goals have been to finding ways to involve
new members in the event activities and future goals of the
council. I
know that most if not all our brothers help out in some way for events.
However, we are in need of leaders that want to get involved and
coordinate these events.

It is very disheartening to
see new brothers become members of the
council and then hear that one of the reasons is they are not
feeling
they are being involved enough. Therefore, the officers and
directors
are calling out all members, new and current, to step forward and
join
us in a "Meet and Greet" night on Feb 19th. This night will be
all
about how we can get you involved and answer questions about what we do
and what you event ideas you have for the council to pursue.
A couple of reminders. If you are a current officer or
director and/or
willing to take a step up and challenge yourself in taking a
leadership
position, please think about making your name available for open
positions. During the April council meeting, the trustees
will need to
have the slate of officers identified.
We have a lot of upcoming events in the next few months, i.e..
local,
district and State Free throw competitions; special olympics, St.
Patrick's Dinner Dance, etc.
On our next council meeting, Tuesday February 9, the council
will host
a 2nd degree before starting with the business part. From the numbers I
have been hearing so far, we will have approx 10-12 candidates
representing 3-4 councils. Please show your support by attending
this
degree as an observer.
I have also had some inquiries from fellow officers and directors
pertaining to the idea of forming a wife's support group and a squires
group. I plan to follow up with information on these requests and also
would like to hear of more interest.
Again, thank you all for your support for first part of the fraternal
year and for the events coming up.
Fraternally,
Markus Bailey
Grand Knight
